McQuisha K. Smith

Born in Daytona Beach, Florida and raised in Orlando, FL. McQuisha K. Smith is a senior Sociology student at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. She has always been a lover and participant in the arts. McQuisha is the founder of Voices FAMU’s poetry organization, a member of Black on Black Rhyme Poetry Troupe and Black on Black Rhyme’s dancers. She has performed in numerous stage plays and musicals in high school and college, such as  Aida, Miss Saigon, and Blue. McQuisha graduates in  December of 2013 and plans to attend graduate school for a MFA in acting. She aspires to teach at an Historically Black College/University hoping to enlighten future generations and support the preservation of African American history. Currently she is working on her first chapbook of poetry and continues to participate in dance performances at local venues in Tallahassee, FL.
